These are the rules for playing on Predixn. They sit alongside our Terms and Conditions and Acceptable Use Policy.
The idea
Predixn is competitive. Being competitive is the point — you are trying to read a match better than everyone else, and the leaderboard says whether you did. What it is not is a licence to be unpleasant to the person you just beat.
These are the rules. The Acceptable Use Policy is the full version with the legal edges on it; this page is what actually matters day to day.
1. Play the match, not the person
Argue about a call, a line-up or a result all you like. Do not go after another player: no abuse, no threats, no pile-ons, no hate directed at who someone is.
If someone beat you with a prediction you thought was ridiculous, they read the match better than you did. That happens.
2. One account, played by you
One person, one account, played by hand. No second accounts to farm a rivalry, no borrowing someone else’s, no scripts making your predictions for you.
A rating earned any other way is worth nothing, and we will reset it.
3. Be yourself, or at least not someone else
Pick any display name you like. Do not pick one that impersonates another player, a member of our team, a club, a competition or a journalist.
Do not post anyone’s personal details — including your own. A leaderboard is a public place.
4. If you find a hole, tell us
Products have defects. If you find one that gives you tokens, rating or achievements you did not earn, report it instead of mining it. We would much rather hear about it from you.
Security issues have their own route, and researchers who use it are welcome here.
5. Keep it about football
No advertising, no promotional links, no spam through the product or the contact forms. Nothing sexual, nothing graphic, nothing unlawful.
If someone breaks a rule
Report it. Tell us who, where and what happened, and we will look. Reports are handled privately — the person you reported is not told who reported them.
If we act on your report we will not always be able to tell you what we did, because what happens to someone else’s account is their business.
What happens if you break one
Usually we ask you about it first. For anything serious — targeting a person, coordinated manipulation, attacking the service — we act straight away: content removed, rating reset, account restricted, suspended or closed.
Think we got it wrong? Say so. A person reads that too.
